When you use your Business MasterMoney® Debit Card, it immediately affects the available balance in your account. With our real-time system, you’ll always know exactly how much money is available, plus enjoy faster transactions! This excludes Point of Sale Signature Transactions, in which the full amount isn’t withdrawn until 1-3 days later.
Pending transactions are always visible via Business Online Banking. They’ll immediately appear in your account history, but without a letter code beside them (ED, AW, etc.). Some transactions will display a different amount when they settle, and any deposits placed on hold will not be available until that hold has expired.
A PIN Transaction occurs when you use your card and enter your PIN. A Signature Transaction doesn’t need a PIN for a card swipe, when you’re giving your card number over the telephone, or using the card on the internet.
Some Signature Transactions will place an initial charge (also called a pledge) on your card that doesn’t reflect the final amount. The full amount of the transaction won’t come out of your account until it settles 1-3 days later. For example, most gas stations place a $1.00 charge on your account to determine if it’s a valid card, and the full cost of the gas does not come out of your account until the transaction settles in 1-3 days.
If you see an amount charged, it won’t necessarily come out of your account. Some pledges simply disappear without actually taking any of your money. If you wish to dispute an item or report it as fraud, we must wait until the money is actually taken from your account. If you see multiple pledges for the same transaction, the funds may still only be deducted a single time.
To change your PIN at one of our ATMs, select the proper screen option: change password or change security code.
You can also update your PIN by calling 1-888-891-2435. Your card must be activated at an ATM or by a bank employee before using the PIN change phone number.
Remember, when traveling, it’s a good idea to carry multiple forms of payment (cash, debit card, credit card, etc.).
You can also complete the Debit Card Travel Notification Form and submit it to the bank before you leave on your trip.
